Art of 2025

A year of watercolor, chibi stickers, pixel art and paint experiments.

Cover: “Art of 2025” over a watercolor of a blue frog-like creature fishing from a dock, with a white nine-tailed fox and Leafeon in panels below. Signed AnAmelie.
“Soooo many chibis… 24!” Chibi character heads drawn as stickers, with notes like “I really like mischievous faces!” and “It was only supposed to be a study on expressions…”
More chibi stickers labelled “Holographic!”, “Matte vinyl!”, “Transparent!”, “Big!” and “smol!”, sketched on paper and colored in Procreate.
“I am so productive right b4 Christmas…”: watercolors of a dog labelled “Abby!”, a frog labelled “Pool frog!”, and a dog named Pixel (“Art of *Pixel*, not to be confused with pixel art”).
“…but these were still last minute kitties”: four watercolor cat paintings, with notes about painting at mom’s with a travel palette and first paintings on a fancy watercolor paper block.
“An Ode to Granulation”: a short essay above a granulating watercolor painting of a gray wolf in snow.
“What’s the deal with watercolor?” and “What pigments are in them?”: an essay about learning watercolor and pigments, printed over paint swatches. Ends “Yes, I probably buy too much paint.”
Pixel art from the game Pinch-ball in a four-color orange and teal palette, labelled “Dead fish!”, “Trash!” and “Wiggly bumpers!”, with a note that the palette came from a low-res photo and the jam was GB Jam 13 (160×144 pixels).
The Pinch-ball title with a chompy eel, the ball and a spider crab in pixel art, and a note about animating the game in Procreate.
Back cover: “These birds are not real because they’re made of paint”: watercolor paintings of an osprey in flight, a blue jay gryphon and an unfinished owl, painted on 5×7 watercolor paper.
